The National Task Force on Substance and Drug Abuse (NaTFSDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare, is delighted to announce the arrival of the second cohort at the PMTC Hastings rehabilitation centre. This significant milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to addressing the challenges of substance and drug abuse within our community.

At PMTC Hastings, we offer a haven for healing and rejuvenation, embracing a holistic and compassionate approach to rehabilitation. Our facility is carefully designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can embark on their journey towards recovery. The recent induction ceremony was a poignant affair, filled with hope and optimism as families witnessed their loved ones take courageous steps forward.

Beyond being a formal event, the ceremony served as a celebration of bravery and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. As their loved ones started on a transformative path with the help of our devoted team of professionals, families and friends watched in awe. The presence of Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Charles Senesie, and Executive Director, Prof. Brig. Foday Sahr, underscored the significance of community and governmental backing in our collective efforts. Both leaders delivered inspiring messages, urging new participants to remain steadfast and resilient throughout their recovery journey.

Recognising that recovery is an ongoing process, our centre offers an array of resources aimed at fostering long-term sobriety and holistic well-being. We encourage all participants to maintain connections with their support network, as familial and communal encouragement play a pivotal role in overcoming the hurdles of recovery.

As we persist in our mission to provide care and support for those grappling with substance abuse, we extend an invitation to the community to join us in this vital endeavour. Your support can profoundly impact the lives of individuals striving to reclaim their autonomy from addiction. Together, we can cultivate a more resilient and healthier community where every individual has the opportunity to achieve enduring recovery.

Remember, every stride towards recovery signifies a step towards a brighter and more hopeful future. At NaTFSDA and the Ministry of Social Welfare, we stand ready to support you at every juncture of your journey.
